14 Jan 2013 - Arrived in Bangladesh!
Yay!! We finally made it after 48hrs of traveling!
We had a fun time trying to figure out how to get our visas, experienced our first public restroom of a toilet in the ground (that was interesting!), and luckily received all our luggage. :)
Next, we were greeted by some very gracious Rotary members. They were so sweet and brought us gorgeous flowers, helped us through the airport and drove us to our host families house. They definitely gave us the VIP treatment.
I immediately loved my host parents and they were extremely accommodating. They have three beautiful daughters, who are 24, 23, and 10. The oldest is currently in the UK working on her Masters Degree. The second one, Sariya, went to school in Iowa and was in the U.S. for four years, but recently came back home to live after graduation. Shareen, the 10 year old is ADORABLE!! She is hysterical and has a mind of her own.
I took a three hour nap when I arrived, then we went to a big family gathering to say bye to one of their cousins who are studying abroad. Stephanie's host family is a relative to mine, so she was also there. It was fun to meet everyone. The average time for them to eat at night is around 9:30pm, so we didn't leave until almost midnight. I love how family oriented they are!!
