Whew! I have been a shopping fool ever since I left work... drove over to the avenues in Phoenix to pick up the skirts for the rest of the team (since their Sears doesn't have any in stock), picked up permethrin (sp?), DEET spray, and some extra water purification tablets over at REI, and finally Wally World for another memory card for my camera and host family gifts and other bits and pieces... Altogether spent over $250! To be fair a large chunk of that will be reimbursed, but STILL!
I'm going to get a head start on packing Saturday, since I am pretty
famous for waiting until two hours before I need to head to the airport
before throwing everything and anything into my suitcase. It has always
worked for me, but I have also always been going to a country where I
can find ANYTHING I may be missing, which I am thinking will not be the
case with Bangladesh. I have already packed some things into their individual Ziploc baggies, so they can be thrown in, and I'm not bringing many clothes, since I plan on buying a few saris and other outfits other there.
I still need to buy a few other things though, such as camis (to wear under our shirts), nice sandals, a voltage converter, and I'm sure more things will come to mind as I am shopping. I honestly can't wait for the moment we can stop preparing and just go for it!
Our next (and last) team meeting is this Sunday in Flagstaff, so we need to have our presentations ready to roll, as well as all of our outfits and whatever else comes up. Oy Vey. So. Much. Preparation.
